The Six Best Natural Anxiety Cures Anyone Can Apply
<previous> It’s not a secret that anxiety medications are not your best solution in the long term. Here are 6 best natural anxiety cures that can be easily used for people dealing with anxiety:
Teas are good natural anxiety cures that you can keep handy with you at the office. Whenever, you are feeling the anxious nerves playing about, make yourself a cup of tea. Of course, not all tea have the same effects.
Chamomile tea is a good choice. It has some compounds that binds to the same receptors as drugs like valium.
A study that was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology found that patients with mild to moderate generalised anxiety disorder demonstrated significant reduction in anxiety symptoms when they took extracts of chamomile.
Green tea contains L-theanine that has been found to dampen the effects of anxiety. In a study conducted in Japan, patients with anxiety who received L-theanine were more focused and calmer.
Lavender is one of my favourite natural anxiety cures. In a study conducted by King’s College London, patients waited in a room scented with lavender odor seems to have reduced state of anxiety. In another study published by Mc Caffrey et al, students who inhaled lavender before an examination demonstrated less anxiety.
Not sure about you, sweating often gives me a satisfied mood. Of course, exercising would be one of the best natural anxiety cures. With regular exercise of about 3-5 times a week, the body releases mood altering brain chemicals like endorphins, serotonin and norepinephrine.
If for some reason you are not motivated to persist on exercising, you can still sweat it out!
There is an increasing interest with Far-infrared sauna. The health benefits of Far-infrared saunas have been shown in various studies. Besides that, a study published in Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, suggest that the sensation of warmth may alter neural circuits controlling mood, activating the serotonergic circuits.
When you are suffering from an episode of anxiety attack, its best to take a few deep breaths and go for a walk. That would take your mind off things. Do something! The more you ponder on it, you’re just going to aggravate it even further.
If you can, go for a ‘forest bath’ or Shinrin-yoku as the Japanese refers to it. In a study conducted in Japan, people taking in the forest atmosphere had lower levels of stress hormones.
However, not all of us have the luxury of having a forest environment closeby. Therefore, my favourite natural anxiety cures is mindfulness meditation. Initially, it take a bit of practice as the ‘monkey mind’ just doesn’t stay still. However, with a bit of practice and guidance, just a short 15 minutes does wonders!
Isn’t it the same as catching a sleep? Nope…
In fact, my spiritual guru once said, the reason why people get depression is because they have lack of mind energy. Meditation revitalises your mind!
Spot The Physical Manifestation
This natural anxiety cure was initially taught by my spiritual guru and I have since used it in all my clients. Many of my clients, when they initially consult me, they are usually not aware that the anxiety does manifest as a physical symptom in the body. It can be a slight ache anywhere. As you become mindful and scan your body thoroughly, you will find it! It may take some time… so be patient.
After you’ve found the spot, you’ll notice that every time you have that anxious feeling, that symptom will arise as well. Just gently massage that area and you’ll want to do it with lots of tender loving care (TLC). You can always get someone to help you with this massage. As you patiently do it over a few minutes, you will notice that the anxious feeling will gradually subside too.
Explore the Real Cause
Psychotherapy like cognitive behavioural therapy may help you identify the cause and deal with the anxiety better. However, this is not something most people like to hear, and they do not want be associated with having some kind of mental disorder. Besides, studies have not be able conclusively determine its effectiveness.
A simpler and more effective method to consider is this new age healing called Blocked Qi Release Technique (BQRT). BQRT is interesting as the practitioner is able to skilfully and effectively re-establish the necessary mind-body alignment.
Surprising to many, the root cause of these anxiety issues is intense/ unprocessed emotions that leads to energy disharmony. It's amazing how one session clears many of these underlining cause and it can be done with distant healing.
I felt there was power over my heart that I felt calm
So Denver did the BQRT remotely for me and after that session I was on a flight to KL. Unfortunately, that day, i got a flight with severe turbulence. And to my surprise, although I was scared of the turbulence, I did not have this sweaty palms, heart palpitations, or panic. <read more>
